Refugee Visit Day – Friday 8th August
On Friday 8th August, BBC is hosting a visit from around 40 refugees from Afghanistan and Iran, connected through Doveton's ESL classes (led by Ben Foo and Alan Lee). The group includes singles, young and older, and family units.
The day: arrive by train at midday, lunch at BBC (provided by us) with a focus on connection and fun, then a visit to the Caithness farm — requested specially, as several visitors come from farming backgrounds. They'll head back to Dandenong on the 5pm train.
It's a day visit for now, but if it goes well, it could grow into an overnight or weekend visit down the track.
We need you. Transport, food, or just showing up to engage — every bit helps. Numbers will be limited, so don't wait for "someone else" to volunteer.
